What made you want to come to Lincoln?
“The opportunity to work with enthusiastic students and collaborate with a dedicated team of educators was very appealing. Before I joined Lincoln, I heard many positive comments and I appreciate having the opportunity to explore different school cultures.”
Where were you before this?
“Before I took maternity leave, I taught at Franklin High School for nine years. I had the chance to work with a diverse group of students there and enjoyed contributing to their educational journey. I also taught in China at the college level.”
Why did you decide to go into teaching?
“I decided to go into teaching because of my passion for language and culture. When I was in college, I volunteered to work as a professor assistant and tutor foreign exchange students. I find it incredibly rewarding to help students discover and appreciate new perspectives through learning a new language. Teaching allows me to share my love for Chinese culture and language while helping students develop valuable skills.”
What are some of your hobbies?
“My husband and I play music together. I play the piano and the Hulusi which is a Chinese instrument. I enjoy hiking and traveling and I also love spending time with my eight-month-old baby and our Maltese dog. Exploring new places and experiencing different cultures are always exciting for me.”
What are you looking forward to this school year?
“I’m looking forward to engaging with my students and celebrating their progress throughout the year…I would like to know every student as an individual, and I would love to grow with them and learn from everyone in this community.”
