Junior earns musical honors

Marjorie Sheiman, junior, has been named to the All State and the All Northwest Choir.

Along with 400 other talented students, she was selected from a total of 5,200 applicants from six different states. “I was hoping for State, and the fact that I got Northwest is awesome,” Sheiman said. She has been involved in choir since freshman year and only started taking voice lessons last year. However, Sheiman has participated in musical theatre since she was nine, with her most recent performance in “Chicago” last spring.

“I’ve definitely progressed since freshman year,” she said, “the difference between now and then is like one to a million.” Sheiman plans to pursue horal and opera singing professionally, and she also hopes to teach a choir of her own in the future.
