Millions in scholarship dollars available to students
More than $18 million in scholarships is available for juniors and seniors looking to go to college.
The Office of Student Access and Completion, a state body “dedicated to creating a college-going culture for all Oregonians,” has 459 scholarships sponsored by various organizations, individual donors, businesses, and foundations.
Criteria for eligibility is wide-ranging. Golfers can get scholarships through OSAC, as can those of Japanese-American, Hispanic, or Scottish ancestry. Money is also available to students interested in an arts career or nursing. Students who sign up before Feb 15 are automatically entered in a drawing for a $500 scholarship.
Lincoln has seven of its own scholarships managed by OSAC. These scholarships range from $500 up to $2000, but to be eligible, applications must be submitted by March 1.
