Cane sales benefit homeless, new bathrooms

Two candy cane-related fundraisers are underway through the end of the week.

The Hope for Homeless Club will be selling them along with holiday grams and ornaments during lunch in the main hall. Candy canes are also being sold for $1 to raise money to improve the restrooms. The sale will begin Wednesday during lunch and after school, and students can have them delivered to friends.

Candy cane sales have proven successful in the past. According to Government teacher David Bailey, the Jewish Student Union once sold them as “Hanukkah Hooks.”  ”I think the candy cane sales will be very successful because people will have cause to support both causes,” said sophomore Laurel McGrane.

“It’s a very fun way to raise money,” sophomore Jessica Zhao said. “Our school bathrooms definitely need maintenance.”
