Spring sports have sprung. The spring sports season began in March and includes track and field, tennis, lacrosse, baseball, softball and golf.
Track and Field

Eric Dettman is the head coach for track and field.
Sophomore Camille Drake enters their first season on the team as a discus thrower. Drake said the goal for the season is to continue to improve their throwing and meet people.
“This season, [I want to] throw farther than the first time I threw, which is around 80-100 feet and to make more friends on the track and field team,” said Drake.
Senior Caleb Sklar has been on the track and field team for all four years of high school. This season he will be doing the 1500 meters and the 3k (3 kilometer) races. Sklar emphasizes how much the team has meant to him over the years.
“It’s kind of like a second family,” said Sklar. “Somewhere where you can destress during practice and not have to worry about school or homework. You can just talk with your friends and run and have a good time.”
Tennis

The head coach for women’s tennis is Joyce Feliciano.
Senior Phoebe Solomon has been playing tennis since kindergarten and has played for Lincoln all four years. She is playing doubles with Olivia Greenberg. This season she hopes to improve on her game.
“My goals are to get better at my doubles strategy. I want to get better at playing on the net,” said Solomon.

The head men’s coach this season is Stuart Allen.
Sophomore Gautam Shanmugam has been playing tennis since he was seven. He plays doubles. Shanmugam hopes to play in a varsity match.
“My goal for the season is to play a varsity match and to win that varsity match,” said Shanmugam.
Lacrosse

The head coach for the men’s team is Adrian Macalalad.
Senior Jack Coletti has been playing lacrosse since first grade. This season he is playing defense. Coletti describes the team environment as hard-working.
“The team environment is very good. We all are friends and all get along well. Our practices are full of fun and jokes but at the end of the day we also care about the success of our team and are willing to work hard,” said Coletti.

Junior Addie Lindberg has been playing lacrosse since seventh grade. This year she’s the goalkeeper on the team with an entirely new coaching staff. This season Lauren Hill is the head women’s lacrosse coach. Lindberg hopes to foster a good team dynamic in a new environment.
“My goals for the season are to get comfortable in a new team environment because we have new freshmen that came up and seniors that left, but importantly we had a whole new coaching staff replace our old coaching staff,” said Lindberg. “I’m really looking forward to [this season] and hoping for a good dynamic between the coaches and the team and that we can all work together to have some good wins.”
Baseball

The baseball team plays 27 games per season. Their head coach is C. J. Watson.
Senior Nolan Winthrop plays shortstop this year and has been playing baseball for 14 years.
“Baseball games are fun to watch, especially our games. Everyone’s always saying they are boring but if you come out to one I guarantee you’ll have a good time. It’s an electric environment and we’re a winning program that plays the game the right way,” Winthrop said. “In the past couple of years, even though we have been league champs, there have been very few fans, so I’m hoping some more people can make it out this year. It’s always a great time watching us play, especially in big games like those against Grant/Wells and playoff games.”
Softball

The softball head coach is Ricky Almeida.
Junior Lucy Goldring plays first base and outfield. She has been playing for five years. Goldring’s goal for the season is to continue to build a better team environment.
“My goals this season are to generally improve my performance in the game. Also, we have a lot of new freshmen that I’d really like to meet and just build a better team community. Also just winning more games because we didn’t win very many last year,” said Goldring.
Golf

Siriane Lawless is the head coach for women’s golf.
Senior Sage Dallner has been playing golf since her sophomore year. Dallner’s goal for the season is to improve her swing.
“I would say I want to work on a lot of specifics around my swing including hitting my driver better, and I want to be able to play in an eighteen-hole tournament at some point,” said Dallner.
The head coach for boys golf is Kerry Lawless. Senior Alex Geffrard has also been playing golf since his sophomore year.
“My goals for this season are to break 50 on nine holes, so to be hitting under 50 strokes,” said Geffrard.
