What is your position at Lincoln?
“I am the director of the band and instrumental music program and also a teacher for the audio engineering program.”
What made you want to come to Lincoln?
“I started my career in Portland Public Schools, and I was at a point in my life where I could return back to Portland. Lincoln High School is a great place with great students. There had been a great community for band and support for music, so I was excited to come here.
Where were you before this?
“I’ve been a band director for 26 years, so this has been my career for a long time.”
Why did you decide to go into the musical field?
“I was in band myself, and I really enjoyed teaching my other bandmates when I was section leader. I enjoyed the process of teaching. I was offered a scholarship to go to college, and I decided to become a music major.”
What are some of your hobbies?
“I love to run. I’m an avid trailrunner. I also like to fish. I do photography as well.”
What are you looking forward to this school year?
“I’m getting really excited about meeting all of the students and getting to know them better. I want to learn more about the culture of the band program and to build upon that by having fun with the students and giving them a great band room.”

“I feel really, really excited about the school year and feel very fortunate to be here. Everyone’s been so welcoming and excited as much as I am to be here.”
