What sports do you play?
Evie Litrell: “I play basketball and softball.”
Harper Heiser: “I play basketball and tennis.”
Lana Santa Maria: “I play lacrosse.”
Why do you play this sport?
Litrell: “I play softball because I’ve been playing it since I was
in fifth grade and all my friends played it at the time and that made me
want to join.”
Heiser: “I play tennis to get more involved with the community
of Lincoln and I really enjoy that type of workout.”
Santa Maria: “I play [lacrosse] because it’s a fun after school activity
to do with all my friends and forms good new friendships.”
What keeps you engaged and motivated?
Litrell: “The coaches and definitely my friends who are on the team,
they’re very uplifting and keep being focused.”
Heiser: “Being able to do it with friends and having that time
to socialize.”
Santa Maria: “Doing well for my team and the common goal
of winning and also just supporting each other.”
How have Lincoln sports impacted your life?
Litrell: “Lincoln sports have helped me build new relationships and
create a whole new community of friends. They have helped
me make new friends on my sports team and its overall a fun
experience and it’s a nice break from school.”
Heiser: “I’ve met a lot of new people and gotten closer with the community.”
Santa Maria: “I have made a lot of really good friends through lacrosse. Just really good and long term friends who I can lean on on and off the field.”
