Dear Lincoln High School,
I’m writing to you today to address the blazing issue of your new football field, and the problems it poses for the community of Goose Hollow. My name is Karen, and I reside in the area across from your field. I think I speak for many when I say that the lights on the field during your little football games are insanely and obnoxiously bright. They are interfering with my everyday life!
I find it inconsiderate that you all did not take this problem into consideration when designing your new field. I don’t think it’s that difficult for your players to play without these blinding lights. Tell them to toughen up a little bit! If you ask me, I would say that sports are not even important in the first place. Last time I checked, school was meant for students to sit at their desks quietly listening to lectures, not for engaging in “fun” activities.
I’m well aware that you have already lowered the brightness of the field lights, but I just don’t think it’s sufficient. The lights are still so incredibly insufferable, and run way too late! I don’t think any child should be awake at the ungodly hour of 9:00 p.m. I personally like to be fast asleep at 8:30. It’s not fair to have my sleep schedule be disrupted by your sporting events. When I was in high school in the late 1960s, the only games on my mind were bingo and checkers; it is concerning to see this younger generation obsessed with violent games.
I suspect other community members of Goose Hollow have been feeling the same way as I have, and it is about time for someone to speak up against this problem. I hope to see drastic changes in the near future. Have an alright rest of your day.
Kind regards,
Karen
