Have you ever sat in class during first period and nearly fallen asleep to your teacher’s lecture, or needed an Arizona pick-me-up but didn’t have enough time between classes to run to Eastside? Whether you need a caffeine rush or are craving a bagel bomb, the Lincoln Coffee Cart will pull through.
The Coffee Cart is open every school day during first and second period, as well as during FLEX. The cart is run by culinary students who volunteer during designated class periods. Students sign up with a partner at the beginning of the year and put down shifts throughout the first semester. People typically do one to two shifts a month, but they are required to do two per semester.
Seniors Lucy Goldring and Finn Usher are the Coffee Cart managers. Goldring enjoys working at the Coffee Cart because of the opportunities it provides for student connection. “[I like] getting to talk to all of the Lincoln students and make them drinks that will get them through the school day. It’s really fun to be able to interact and connect with so many people,” said Goldring.
Goldring described some of the benefits of having a coffee cart on campus. “The Coffee Cart offers somewhere on campus for students to go to with their friends,” said Goldring. “Additionally, it provides a lot of the money used to keep the culinary program running.”
The Coffee Cart has made over $1,500 so far in 2026. These funds help the culinary program purchase ingredients, equipment and coffee cart supplies.
The following drinks are staples of the Coffee Cart.
**Iced Chai Latte**
Price: $6.00
The iced chai latte is the most ordered drink at the Coffee Cart. At 20 oz., it is a good value. The sweetness of the chai concentrate makes this drink perfect for customers who can’t decide what to order. It is consistent, reliable and customizable with syrups such as caramel and vanilla.
**Iced Mocha**
Price: $6.00
The iced mocha is Goldring and Usher’s favorite drink. It has a balanced blend of chocolate and coffee, with sweetness that brings out the coffee flavor while removing bitterness. This drink is recommended for customers who don’t love coffee but still want caffeine.
