Clemen Deng won the Elite division of an all-ages qualifier chess tournament hosted by Lincoln Jan. 10. Kian Patel and Phillip Weiss tied for second place. More than 175 players of differing abilities participated in the competition, which was a fundraiser for team members going to the state and national tournaments. Coach and adviser is science teacher Steve Runion.
