The varsity girls’ lacrosse team beat Wilson 18-3 in a home game on April 3. For head coach Emily Allen, the outcome was not entirely expected. “Wilson is a fantastic club,” she said. “They have traditionally been great opponents.”

It was the team’s third game, following two other wins against Hood River and Cleveland. They went on to beat Grant 10-8 at home on April 4.

Allen attribute the team’s success to the hard work of all the players. “I thought that we had a great showing from several different players across the board,” she said of the Wilson game.

One of these players is Micaela Fernandes, who scored six of the team’s 18 goals, the most of any player that game. Team captain Hanna Minns followed with four goals against Wilson.

“They came out hard, they were super intense and they had a good time,” Allen said of the team’s performance.
