Cards fall to Cougars, meet Oregon City Friday

The boys varsity basketball team fell short against Mountain View  on Dec. 9, losing 61-59.

It was Lincoln’s home opener, after beating South Eugene and Churchill in a tournament in Eugene Dec. 5, 6.

The Mountain View game was close throughout, although the Cards struggled much of the time., trailing 33-24 at halftime. “I felt as a team we played well,” said sophomore guard Jonah Pemberton. “We just needed to play better defensively.”

Pemberton was the team’s leading scorer with 27 points. Senior guard Trent Callan added 12 points to Lincoln’s total. Junior wing Jordan Vance was high point for the Cougars, finishing with 16.

The Cards pre-season record is 2-1. Their next game will be against Oregon City Dec. 12 at Lincoln.
