Sophomore Ben Stickney is currently is tied for the lead after the first round of state at Quail Valley Golf Course.  He finished his day on May 19 with a 3-under round of 69, his best tournament finish of the season so far. His round consisted of four birdies and only one bogey on the long par 4 9th that spans 407 yards. Despite his score, he thought that his putting needed more work in order for him to bring his first state trophy back to Lincoln. “I think I need to be more aggressive with my putting from the start,” Stickney said. “I’m really happy with where i’m at and I hope that I can post another good score the next day of competition and see what happens from there.” Stickney tees off at 1:18 on May 20.
