Disney-Pixar’s newest release, “Hoppers,” received a 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes, outperforming most Pixar movies released since 2020.
Directed by Daniel Chong, the animated feature stars voice actors Piper Curda as Mabel Tanaka and Bobby Moynihan as King George.

The movie follows Mabel Tanaka, an animal-loving college student who is determined to save her forest from being built over. She then discovers experimental technology that transfers human consciousness into robotic animals and uses it to defend the animals of the glade. The film first caught my attention after I saw the energetic characters and playful humor in the trailer.
The main character, Mabel, is an enthusiastically curious protagonist. Her high energy keeps the story moving.
The supporting character, King George, is calmer and more collected. His peaceful presence contrasts with Mabel’s energetic personality.
The balance between the two characters helps the movie maintain a steady rhythm and keeps it from feeling overwhelming or one-sided.
Curda brings Mabel to life. Her voice performance adds emotional depth to the role, capturing Mabel’s excitement and determination.
The overall pace of the movie works well. I never felt bored while watching this movie. The film moved quickly from scene to scene, but never felt rushed. The mix of comedy and action throughout the movie made it easy to stay engaged.
The comedic approach of this movie was playful and lighthearted. Much of the humor comes from Mabel adjusting to life in the body of a robotic beaver.
Additionally, the movie doesn’t rely on complicated jokes, but instead focuses on small, silly moments. Character interactions and exaggerated reactions keep the tone fun and approachable for younger audiences.
