Ms. Bestor and Mr. Bliss
What do you admire most about the other person?
Bestor: “Mr. Bliss takes care of everyone around him and builds the people around him up more than anyone I’ve ever met. He truly sees the good in every person that he encounters.”
Bliss: “Her approach to life is beautifully serious and not serious simultaneously. She can see things that I can’t see a lot of the time, which I think is a real gift.”
What is something that you like to do together?
Bestor: “We love to just talk about cool stuff. Imagine the coolest topic ever. That’s what we’re talking about all the time.”
What is the favorite memory you have shared as friends?
Bestor: “I led Kim in an on-the-spot dance routine [I created] to turn his day around.”
Bliss: “It snapped me right out of it. Totally worked.”
Ms. Hennessy and Mr. Stegner
How did you meet?
Stegner: “We had a connection through a friend of mine from high school [who] went to college with Ms. Hennessy. We realized quickly that we both know the same person.”
Hennessy: “There was an economics class [at college] that I found very difficult. So I bought him snacks and he would teach me economics.”
What do you admire most about the other person?
Hennessy: “I really value Mr. Stegner’s moral compass and strong sense of integrity. He can be very strong in his convictions, and I think we need more of that in the world.”
Stegner: “Her playfulness and warmth has been something I’ve always admired, and students see it in her too. When you walk into a room where Ms. Hennessy is, she lights up and welcomes you in.”
What is something that you do together?
Stegner: “We’ve traded some stories about gardening.”
Hennessy: “I like to eat pizza and Alex likes to make pizza.”
Profe Tello and Madame Virlouvet
What would you say is special about your friendship?
Virlouvet: “We both expose each other to very different things. We both love food and music, but we love very different foods and music. We get to explore that together.”
Tello: “We’re both passionate about a lot of things, and we love to share our passions with each other, and learn from that. I get to experience the typical American traditions that I’ve never did.”
What do you admire most about the other person?
Tello: “She’s the kindest person that I know.”
Virlouvet: “She is so authentically herself in every way, shape and form. She will never change herself to be anything that she’s not.”
What is something that you like to do together?
Virlouvet: “She does not [have kids], but she’s always willing to come over and just sit on the floor and play with my kids.”
Tello: “They call me Tia. I feel like a part of the family now, which is great because she has really integrated me in that way.”
Ms. Raczek and Ms. Kenny
What would you say is special about your friendship?
Raczek: “We’ve always taught some course in common in all of our years [at Lincoln].”
What do you admire most about the other person?
Raczek: “[Ms. Kenny] is very laid back, but when it’s appropriate, she can also be very feisty. I admire that [she’s] relaxed when I need her to be relaxed, and then you’re also willing to step up.”
Kenny: “Ms. Raczek is incredibly principled, just walks her talk in so many different ways.”
What is something that you do together?
Kenny: “We go to plays together. We used to go to the beach together a long time ago, when the kids were younger.”
Raczek: “We also often read the same books, [and give] recommendations to each other and read them.”
What is your favorite memory of being together?
Kenny: “Mostly it’s laughing, because [Raczek] is very funny. It’s been a lot of laughing.”
Raczek: “As long as I’ve been here, Ms. Kenny has been here. She’s in all my memories.”
