Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s first collaborative album “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U” dropped on Valentine’s Day, just five days after Kendrick Lamar’s public diss on Drake during the Super Bowl, intensifying the chaos between these artists right now.

The album quickly rose to number one on the billboards as fans were eager to hear Drake’s comeback for Kendrick’s Grammy-winning diss “Not Like Us”.

Debuting at number one, “$ome $exy $ongs 4U,” knocked Kendrick’s album GNX off the top spot.

The album has 21 songs, but six of the songs stuck out to us:CN TOWER”, “Crying in Chanel”, “Small Town Fame”, “Die Trying”, “Somebody Loves Me”, and “Meet Your Padre”.

The opening song of the album, “CN TOWER,” pays tribute to the famous Canadian National Tower in Toronto. Drake references the city, singing, “The city is pretty when it’s dead just like a flower/ What color is the CN Tower? It’s red tonight.” It’s a fitting introduction to a project that feels like a homecoming for both artists who seem eager to remind the world who runs the rap game.

The fourth song on the album, “Crying in Chanel”, starts a bit flat at first, with an underwhelming intro to the song. However the chemistry between Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR becomes undeniable as the song progresses, and the outro provides a surprising shift that elevates the track to a more emotional song.

In “Small Town Fame, Drake reflects on his rise from humble beginnings to A-list stardom. The lyrics explore the effects of fame and relationships while making references to Charli XCX and Tate Mcrae saying, “I feel like Tate McRae” and “she done had a Brat summer,” a reference to the success of these recent award-winning female artists.

Die Trying” is a standout track that’s perfect for the summer. Its laid-back beat and chorus make the song a fan favorite, and the track creates a sense of carefree fun that makes it ideal for a road trip or a party playlist. Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s effortless flow and playful back-and-forth elevate it to a memorable track on the album.

Somebody Loves Me is another favorite. Its catchy introduction has become a fan favorite, with social media flooded with videos of people singing along to its popular lyrics. The song’s upbeat energy and relatability have cemented it as one of the album’s most popular tracks, leaving listeners humming long after it’s over.

Meanwhile, “Meet Your Padre has sparked controversy over Drake’s poor attempt at singing in Spanish. The song begins with Drake singing ,“I want to meet your madre, pay my respects to your padre, mi amor.” Many listeners dislike the track, as Drake portrays himself as cocky towards the women he has encountered in his love life. We found it to be funny and unserious. Drake’s beginner Spanish and catchy lyrics make it a stand-out song.

Despite its controversial moments, “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U” is ultimately a masterclass in chemistry and collaboration. With its catchy hooks and emotional depth, it solidifies Drake as one of the most influential voices in modern hip-hop and further shoots PARTYNEXTDOOR into stardom. The album’s success is no accident—it’s the product of undeniable talent and a strong connection to the artist’s roots.
