Senior Olivia Greenberg is passionate about biology and baking. Last year, she started Cookie Club.
“It’s [a club] where all of my friends gather and we all just eat cookies,” said Greenberg. “Me and my other club leader, [Jasper Verderosa] bake on Thursday nights, and then we bring the sixty or so cookies to the club on Fridays at lunch.”
During her time in high school, she was inspired by her sophomore geometry teacher, Melissa Johnson.
“[Ms. Johnson] was the first teacher that ever made her students’ grades important to her,” said Greenberg. “She made sure that we were all seen and heard.”
Greenberg hopes to travel to Japan in the future.
“I’ve been wanting to go there since I was little. I love the food there, and I really wanted to try the mochi pancakes,” said Greenberg.
Greenberg advises underclassmen to not exhaust themselves during the first semester. She explains how her motivation tends to lessen in the second half of the school year.
“Don’t burn out in the first semester,” said Greenberg, “I usually have so much motivation for the first semester, and then going into third quarter, I no longer have that motivation because all of my plans were only for first semester.”
