Content creators Mr. Beast (Jimmy Donaldson), KSI (Olajide Olatunji) and Logan Paul collaborated to create Lunchly, a packaged lunch meal similar to Lunchables.  Each box costs approximately $3.99 and contains the hydration drink Prime, a  Feastables chocolate bar, and a main meal in three varieties: “The Pizza,” “Fiesta Nachos” and “Turkey Stack’ems.” We tried the “Fiesta Nachos.”

Lunchly has already been involved in controversy. It is advertised as a “healthier” alternative to Lunchables. One part of this advertising includes saying how it has fewer calories than Lunchables. At first glance, having fewer calories seems favorable, however, the 230 calories in the “Turkey Stack’ems” is less than half of the USDA’s minimum 550 required calorie count for a k-5 school lunch, which is even fewer than the 310 calories in Lunchables.

According to Lunchly’s nutritional information section on their official website, all three Lunchly varieties contain excessively high sodium amounts in proportion to the other nutritional content. The highest amount of protein found in any of the three Lunchly meals is only 12 grams, which again falls short of the 15-30 grams of protein that is recommended by the USDA. Lunchly also has very little amounts of fiber, only 1-4 grams. This makes Lunchly unfit to be a child’s lunch.

Additionally, many consumers have reported receiving their Lunchly with mold in the package. In an interview with The Daily Mail, Lunchly stated that “[Our product quality review] process consists of multiple inspections and approvals, including that of the USDA, before any product can even leave the manufacturing facility.”

We analyzed the Fiesta Nachos Lunchly for taste and amount. The box contained small nacho chips, salsa and queso cheese.

The chips are about the size of a penny, too small to get just about any salsa or queso on them and they were overly salty. However, they were nice and crispy and had a good flavor beneath the salt.

The salsa tasted watered down and it was suspiciously sweet.

The cheese doesn’t taste like real cheese, but it wasn’t bad. It was pretty drippy, which is good because we like our cheese drippy.

The Feastables chocolate bar seemed especially solid, which may have been a result of being stored in a freezer. It tastes good and has a smooth texture.

Lastly, the box contained a strawberry-banana flavored Prime drink. Compared to other flavors of Prime that we have tasted it wasn’t the worst but didn’t compare to the best, which is Meta Moon Prime.

Overall, we would not recommend Lunchly’s Fiesta Nachos because of its poor nutrition, unnatural ingredients and it’s taste. However, if you are ever just looking for a snack to try once in your life, go ahead. Unless you find mold, it won’t kill you to try it.

Although we wanted to try other flavors as well, we could not find them in stores.
