Senior Claire Hogenson has been running the Cards Talks Series at Lincoln with senior Elizabeth Merenda and junior Tanner Gill. She believes her most important take- away from these talks is seeing the sense of community that LHS cre- ates that inspires its alumni come back every year.

This year is the first year Hogenson is running the Cards Talks while partnering up with Stump- town Speaker Series to create discussions for Lincoln’s 150th celebration.

“The idea was to bring back Lincoln alumni to come speak instead of just people in the community or business people,” she said, due to the connection alumni have to the Lincoln community.

Hogenson is very appreciative of the opportunities she had to work closely with Peyton Chapman and Greg Leo – who is the co-chair of the L150 alumni association.

“It’s very inspiring for me as a student to see all of these alumni do these amazing things and people that you can look up to and be like ‘oh I want to have a career like that,’ or ‘that sounds really cool that they’re doing that,’” said Hogenson.

Hogenson is attending the University of Oregon next year to study sports marketing. She believes leading the Cards Talks has definitely improved her communication and teamwork skills.

“It’s something that I’ll always carry on with me and I’m so grateful to be part of Cards Talks and Stump town I am grateful I was able to learn those skills,” Hogenson said.
