The boys’ basketball program welcomed its new coach Patrick Adelman at a meeting in the gym on May 22. Adelman replaces former coach Sean Christensen for reasons that were not disclosed by athletic director Jeff Peeler. “I think he (Adelman) will bring a tremendous amount of passion and knowledge,” Peeler said.

Adelman has an extensive background with basketball. Not only is he the son of former Portland Trail Blazers’ coach Rick Adelman, but he also has years of both coaching and playing experience in the sport. Adelman had coached at both Willamette University and was named head coach at Thurston High School last year. He played his senior year at Lake Oswego High School, which took second in the state tournament against South Medford.
