Auction bidders show support for school programs
Parents opened their wallets in an evening of bidding at the second annual Flock Party, held Feb. 7 at the Multnomah Athletic Club. More than $200,000 was raised at the event, which included items ranging from accommodations in Jamaica to lunch with Governor John Kitzhaber.
In addition to funds generated by the oral and silent auctions, Chromebooks will be made available to students through donations made during the evening. Windermere Real Estate offered a matching gift of $8,000, and the student store contributed an additional $2,000 to help the Chromebook committee reach its goal of $16,000.
