Playoff Game 1 Preview: Varsity football vs. Clackamas
UPDATE: The team lost to Clackamas 21-28, ending its season. The touchdowns were scored by seniors Will Hoge (2) and Sam Paris. “I don’t think there was much discrepancy between Clackamas and us,” coach Eric Fraser said. “We fought hard throughout the entire game and so did they. Even though this is a setback, I think it will motivate us to try harder next year.”
Varsity football prepares to take on its first state playoff opponent at Clackamas at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7. After its league performances, Lincoln placed third in the PIL and is ranked #24 in the state. Head coach Eric Fraser is hopeful that his team will advance in the playoffs. “I don’t think that Clackamas’ rank intimidates us,” Fraser said. “I think we have to maintain ball control, limit mistakes and dominate possession in order to win the game. This is the most important game of the season so far so we need to fight as hard as we can out there.”
