Varsity girls’ soccer advances to quarterfinals

UPDATE: The girls soccer team lost 4-3 to the Sunset Apollos in the quarterfinals of state playoffs Nov. 8. Seniors Morgan Matthews, Mareka Tsongas, and Maddie Ehl scored the goals. “This has been the best season of Lincoln soccer I’ve ever played. The team had such good chemistry and we all wanted it so much,” Gabby Beard, team captain and goalkeeper, said.

The team had its most student support of the season as over 50 spectators travelled to Sunset to support the team in its last game.

Varsity girls’ soccer beat Grant 2-0 at Buckman field on Nov. 4  in round two of the state playoffs. Grant, who previously beat Lincoln 4-2 in the PIL, was ranked #4 in the state before the playoffs. Lincoln will play at Sunset in the quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 6 p.m.
