CHVRCHES: The Bones of What you Believe

Scottish synth-pop band CHVRCHES (pronounced “churches”) has only recently come up on alternative rock radio stations. However, their first full-length album, “The Bones of What you Believe,” has the potential to take the band much higher on the charts.

Light and fun, “The Bones of What you Believe” has a refreshing alternative pop sound, dominated by synthesizers and lead singer Lauren Mayberry’s vocals. The album focuses on electronic sound, using vocals as an added harmony rather than a focal point. An added delight is Martin Doherty’s vocals, which have a lower range and nicely offset Mayberry’s naturally higher pitch.

Ultimately, “The Bones of What you Believe’ is an excellent album and a great listen for fans of alternative pop or electronic music.
