Written by the daughter of English teacher  Barbara Brown, “Adulting” is a reference book for how to become an adult. Or at least, how to attempt to be one. The book gives instructions for cooking, applying for jobs, and for the more jaded readers, what it is like having a job and the environment you are exposed to there.

Though addressed towards adults, “Adulting” is useful to high school students as well, and is split into sections such as “Money,” “Domesticity,” and “Get a Job” for an easy read. The writing style is funny and relatable but also highly informative, regardless of your age.

One of the best aspects of “Adulting” was the perspective it gave on being a twenty-something. It is a world all high schoolers will have to confront, and “Adulting” makes the prospect of it somewhat less fearsome.
