Max closures near LHS next week
The two MAX stations frequented by Lincoln students will close for a week beginning this Sunday.
TriMet will be upgrading tracks and switches on S.W. 18th Avenue, meaning trains cannot service the Kings Hill and
Providence Park stations from May 6 to 11.
Students and staff who take MAX to school from the west will have to disembark at Goose Hollow station, then walk approximately one quarter-mile to school. From the east, shuttle buses will run every five minutes or better between the S.W. 10th Avenue Galleria and Goose Hollow stations.
In addition, the Red Line will terminate at the S.W. 10th Avenue Galleria station, so only the Blue Line will run west of Goose Hollow, meaning trains will arrive only every 15 minutes instead of every 7 minutes.
At Goose Hollow station, westbound passengers should be prepared to board at a temporary wooden platform.
Due to the closures and reduced service, “riders should plan an extra 15-30 minutes for their trips,” TriMet spokeswoman Roberta Altstadt said in a press release.
