Hundreds of Lincoln students gathered at the Smith Memorial Ballroom on Portland State University’s campus Jan. 27 for the Winter Formal dance.

Neighborhood House is a non-profit organization that offers education, anti-poverty and support services to community members in Portland and Multnomah County. They have partnered their Head Start program with PPS Teen Parent Services to implement an Early Head Start preschool program at Lincoln’s teen parent education center next to the football field for children ages six weeks to three years. The Israel-Gaza conflict has continued to affect Lincoln students in a variety of ways. Students cite the rising death tolls, personal connections to people living in the war zones and lack of discussion surrounding the current events as the ways they have been affected.

As AI grows more complex, the number of parameters on programs has increased (some up to 540 billion), which are run and stored in data centers. According to Columbia Climate School, at Columbia University, the data centers that run AI programs account for 2.5% to 3.7% of yearly global greenhouse gas emissions.
