Opinion: Compromises to the chair issue
One possible solution to the problem would be a lunch fire drill plan that involves the chairs. Every student with a chair would have to fold theirs and put it against the side walls of the hall to clear a path in the event of a fire. This would be practiced multiple times a year. Also, students could sit in their chairs “train style,” meaning they sit parallel to the lockers on the sides of the hall with their legs tucked in, rather than sitting perpendicular to the lockers, which results in people with long legs sticking their feet into the middle of the hallway, causing people to trip.
