Freshman boys top Oregon City

The Cardinals moved their record to 3-1 after beating Oregon City 64-49 at home Dec. 12.

Top scorers were Eammon Connor (19), Isaac Baker (12), and Rasheed Butler (11).

“If we get this win, it would give our team a huge boost,” said guard Joe McCartan before the game.

The boys beat Lakeridge 56-49  Dec. 5 at Lincoln but lost to Mt. View 54-48 Dec. 9.

“We beat Tigard in our first game and had to come back against Lakeridge in the second half the next day to pull out the win,” said Eric Fraser, head coach. “Guys keep getting better each day and look forward to carrying lessons from earlier games into the league season.”

The Lakeridge game was tight throughout the first three-and-a-half quarters, but in the fourth Lincoln’s offense got rolling and, coupled with good defense, the boys managed to hold off the Pacers. Top scorer for Lincoln was Baker with 16 points. “We really got going towards the end. We stepped up to the challenge and were able to get the win,” said forward Ethan Jones.
