Crosstown Clash hopes for record attendance

The third annual Crosstown Clash will take place on the Mike Walsh field Oct. 23. The varsity soccer matches feature a pre-district face-off between the Cardinals and the Grant Generals. Games start at 5 p.m. with the girls followed by the boys at 7 p.m. Currently the girls are fourth in the PIL with a record of 4-3-1, and the boys lead the league with a 5-0 record. Grant is second with a record of 4-0-1.

Organizers are hoping to break last year’s attendance record of 3,054, and boys’ varsity team captain Quin Gattey is encouraging students to “invite every single person you know who lives in Portland, Oregon to attend.”

The event also marks Senior Night, where all seniors on the team will be recognized. Attendees are encouraged to wear red or wear Lincoln t-shirts, which will be available to buy at the game.
