Boys JV soccer flattens Cleveland, loses to Wilson

After beating the Cleveland Warriors 6-1 on Oct. 14, the Cards lost 1-0 to Wilson on Oct 16, bringing their undefeated streak to a close. The game was all square until a penalty was conceded and scored towards the end of the second half.  “Its heartbreaking that we would lose a game in that style,” coach Dylan Lomanto said.

“We have had a fantastic season,” freshman Henry Temple said. “I wish the streak could have continued, but sometimes the calls just don’t go your way and you lose some.” The boys now have a 4-1 PIL record. Their next game Oct. 21 against Benson.

“We scored first and never looked back,” said Ben Mayinger of the Cleveland game.

“We’re on the way to a perfect season, but we have to keep that out of our minds and just focus on each game as they come,” said Lomanto. That mentality has the Cards at a 9-2-1 record. “ We all want that 10th win,” said Neiman Mathew, “but we can’t let ourselves get too comfortable.”
