Cards hope to show resilience against Rough Riders

UPDATE: Lincoln beat Roosevelt 56-29. The Cardinals play Franklin on the Quakers’ home turf Oct. 17 at 7″30 p.m.

Coming off a devastating 37-7 loss to rival Grant on Oct. 3, the Cards hope to bounce back with a win at home this Thursday against Roosevelt. Not only did the Cards suffer a loss last week, but senior running back John Duffy suffered a season-ending injury. “It is a huge blow, but I think we can come back from it,” said varsity linesman Christian Needham, junior.

The Cards will most likely have to rely on senior quarterback Nate Ostmo’s arm on Thursday. Ostmo went 1-3 with an interception against Grant last week. “I think he is a good enough player to handle whatever is thrown at him,” said JV running back Ashton Sinclair, sophomore.
