JV2 Soccer Boys Upend Central Catholic

Freshman Hoyung Sohn netted two goals to lead Lincoln to a 2-1 upset over Central Catholic at Delta Park Sept. 29. The win ended a two-game losing streak that threatened to derail the season.

Lincoln had to fight back from a 1-0 disadvantage after conceding an early goal to the Rams. “Even with the slow start, I thought that throughout the game our intensity increased, and that is how we pulled away at the end, said freshman Joe McCartan.

“I think that this win against a good Central Catholic team will build us the confidence we need going forward into league games,” defender Nate Bradley said. The match marked the end of non-conference play for the Cardinals, who opened up PIL competition Oct. 1 against Madison.
