After extending its winning streak to eight games with a 12-1 win over Roosevelt on May 2, the varsity baseball team lost to Grant 8-4 in the second annual Cross Town Clash against on May 5. Lincoln is now tied for second place in Special District 2 with the Generals. Following its defeat by Grant, the Cardinals came back the next day and defeated Franklin 8-4 in a non-league game. Next up is a clash with league-leader Sheldon in Eugene on May 9. In their first encounter April 30, the Cardinals defeated the Irish 6-2.
