Movie Review: Heaven is For Real

Released on April 16, 2014, Heaven is For Real is an American Christian drama film about the four-year-old son of a Nebraska small town pastor who claimed he experienced Heaven through his emergency surgery. He explained that through his spirit form he was watching over the doctors and his family while the surgeons operated on his physical body. His father was praying in the waiting room; at first, the son’s parents could not believe what he told them, especially after he told them he saw his mother’s miscarried sister and his great-grandfather who’d died 30 years prior, details the family weren’t ready to tell him yet at his age. He also talked about his surreal experience with God and Jesus and how the Holy Ghost rains down blessings to help people on Earth.

This movie is very inspirational to me because it was my first time seeing a great movie near Easter, instead of slasher thrills that seem to dampen the lively mood. It shows how in dire situations as in this movie, you can still experience the goodness of life out of it.
