Food Review: Burrito Cart on SW 12th Ave

Just a couple blocks away from Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon is Rosales Taqueria, a little white tin food cart that makes amazing Mexican food, and specializes in making their heavenly burritos.

There are two brilliant and skilled workers who work in this food cart. One of them takes your order in ten seconds and the other makes your burrito in up to three minutes, even when the line stretches to the street (usually on Fridays).

The burrito prices range from $5 to $7 depending on which type of meat you get, definitely not size. These burritos are bigger than your face and can be stuffed with your choice of filling: asada beef, ground beef, chicken, vegetarian options, or carnitas.

I usually buy the vegetarian burrito; not because I’m a vegetarian, but because the sour cream, cheese, guacamole, pinto beans, lettuce, and Pico de Gallo are also added in perfect amounts in this specific burrito. The mixture makes each bite of the burrito amazing.

Compared to Chipotle, the walk is much shorter, and though they have the same sized lines, the workers at Burrito Cart make the burritos much faster, so the line goes more quickly. Burritos from Rosales Taqueria also have more flavor than Chipotle’s burritos because of the special sauces they add.

Although at the end of your burrito, the sauce can get a bit messy and drip all over you, the sauce is too amazing to complain about.

These burritos are cheap, huge, made quickly (so you don’t have to stress about getting back to school on time) and delicious. I recommend that other kids at Lincoln High School and anyone in downtown Portland should definitely try a burrito sometime.
