Varsity volleyball beats Quakers at home

The girls beat Franklin in three straight games to close out the regular season Oct. 23 with a third-place PIL standing and a 12-4 record.

After shaking off a surprise loss to Roosevelt Oct. 16, the girls came back solid to defeat fourth-place Grant in five games 3-2 Oct. 21.

The girls lost to the fifth-place Roughriders 3-0. “We just had an off game,” said sophomore Haley Schulberg. “Roosevelt (7-8) is scrappy, and we played their game, not ours.” Lincoln, third in the PIL rankings, beat fifth-place Roosevelt in their previous matchup. Senior Nikki Nelson was consistent with her kills but it wasn’t enough.
